Founded in October 2018 and based in Singapore, CPSG Southeast Asia will help increase CPSG's impact in the region and complement the work of CPSG Indonesia and CPSG Japan, as well as the other regional resource centers worldwide.

The Southeast Asia Resource Center seeks to streamline and prioritise conservation action planning for threated species in this region. In alignment and support of the IUCN SSC Asian Species Action Partnership (ASAP) CPSG SEA will focus on critically endangered species in Southeast Asia.

CPSG SEA recognises that conservation action planning has been ongoing within all of the Southeast Asian range countries. One of the important activities for the first year will be to share information about the resource center amongst regional in-situ and ex-situ conservation stakeholders and encourage partnerships with this new resource center. Attention will be given to understand the existing capacity for conservation planning and identifying the gaps and opportunities that will guide future training for the region.
